CAI promotes throughout the world the provision of free, impartial and confidential advice and information to the public about their rights and responsibilities .
CAI represents the interests of its members – independent non-governmental bodies, with all supranational bodies, including the European Union and other international institutions CAI ensures constant exchange of information on professional advice among citizens advice providers in Europe and New Zealand, build partnerships, improve services based on sharing of good practices. Based on evidence of citizens’ problems registered by CABs, CAI strives for influencing policymakers to improve legislation according to the citizens’ needs. Please see Report on Discrimination. Since its creation, CAI has been organizing events for members offering them opportunities to exchange best practices in citizens’ advice work, has been carrying out lobbying activities with the EU institutions and attended conferences and seminars concerned with civil society development issues and citizens’ rights.
