6th European Forum of Citizens’ Advice Services

on the Exercise of European Citizenship Rights

24-25 February 2009 - Brussels

The 6th European Forum of Citizens’ Advice Services will bring about more than one hundred professionals in the field of information and legal advice for the citizens, as well as interested general public. They will have an opportunity to share their experience, good practices in advice and evidence based social policy work, and make recommendations for the better application of the rights related to the European citizenship in the future.

National Association of Citizens Information Services in Ireland  (NACIS)

NACIS is a network of 42 Citizens Information Centres located throughout Ireland. All centres share the same ethos of empowering people by providing free, independent and confidential information, advice and advocacy services by personal contact, phone, e-mail and text to all persons in Ireland on their social and civic rights and entitlements.   The Centres deal with approx. 350.000 individual enquiries each year. Based on information gathered form their clients Citizens Information Centres carry out also advocacy work with government departments and agencies.  The work of the network is supported by COMHAIRLE, which provides the network with Citizens Information Database and Oasis as well as other publications.
